Sepp Kuss Returns for an Amazing Adventure in Andalucía
We are excited to announce that Sepp Kuss will return for another VIBE Tours adventure in Andalucía! Mark your calendars for October and reserve your spot for a chance to meet and ride with him in the amazing terrain of southern Spain. [See Sepp 2025 highlights.]
Phase 1 — Málaga
The journey starts in historic central Málaga, the pulsing urban heart of Spain’s sunshine coast. With mountains out the backdoor, beaches nearby, Roman and Islamic ruins, a thriving art scene and lively tapas bars, Málaga is where modern Spain beats in sync with its ancient past.
October weather is perfect for Málaga cycling — the summer heat has dissipated but the Mediterranean sun remains. We’ll stay in the city for three nights and three great rides. First, a warmup along the coastal bike paths. Second, a loop of the Málaga mountains with a quick and twisting descent. Finally, a climb to the summit of Torcal ridge, where otherworldly rock formations have long captivated the human imagination.
During off-bike hours the vibe remains high. We’ll enjoy a private dinner at the popular Bodega El Pimpi restaurant owned by Antonio Banderas. We’ll hit the Recyclo Bike Cafe annual party for food and music. And we’ll relax in a spa inspired by Andalucía’s Islamic past. With candlelight, mosaic tiles, mint tea, and massage, it’s the perfect way to keep your legs ready for more mountains.
Phase 2 — Gaucín
For the second phase of our journey we’ll leave Málaga and head deeper into the countryside to explore the famous whitewashed villages of Andalucía.
Our first ride follows lightly traveled mountain passes connecting the Sierra de las Nieves park with the dramatic town of Ronda. From there we’ll ride the mountain ridge to Gaucín, our home for the next four nights.
Gaucín is a mountain crossroads perched between two major river valleys. We’ll stay in the village at Molino del Carmen, an historic olive mill converted into a private villa — with views of Gibraltar and Africa, and a pool for off-bike hours. You’ll have time to stroll the winding streets and feel the magic of this ancient town.
Rest-Day Tourism
Mid week we’ll hit pause on riding for some epic tourism. The day starts with a drive through the Sierra de Grazalema mountains, stopping to stretch the legs and get coffee in clifftop Arcos de la Frontera.
From there we dip down into the Sherry Triangle, one of Spain’s major wine regions, for a tasting and tour to learn the distinctive aging methods. We’ll continue soaking up the vibe in seaside Cádiz. Founded around 3,000 years ago by Phoenician sailors, it is one of the oldest cities in western Europe. Cádiz is famous for its seafood and flamenco.
Ride with Sepp
Sepp Kuss will join us for an entire day of riding in the Spanish mountains. Our loop with him will wind along the Guadiaro River, climb through the cork forest of the Alcornocales park, and stop for lunch overlooking the Genal River valley.
It’s a unique and intimate way to get to know one of cycling’s great champions and hear his stories from a life in sport. Sepp will stay for dinner with the group at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Gaucín.
The Queen Stage
Our final ride leaves the biggest (optional) challenge for last. Our loop heads first to Genalguacil, one of Spain’s most beautiful villages, known for its artsy vibe with sculptures scattered around town. From there we’ll continue climbing to the Puerto de Peñas Blancas, a mountain pass often used in stage races. It’s our moment of truth for those who wish to push higher still to the Pico de los Reales, with stunning views of the Mediterranean at more than 4,750 feet above sea level. From there we’ll plunge down to Casares for lunch before the final climb to Gaucín.
This VIBE Tours adventure promises to be one of the most action-packed and fulfilling weeks of your life — a great way to connect with people who share a passion for bikes and culture.
