“VIBE DC”: A Washington, D.C. Group Ride for Everyone

Something exciting is happening in the Washington, D.C. cycling community, and at its heart is community.

For years, riders have been showing up for the local RCC Sunday rides thanks to a dedicated group of ride leaders who helped build something special. Those rides created friendships, routines, and a welcoming place for cyclists to gather week after week.

When the opportunity came for me to help continue and grow that community as VIBE DC, I was excited to be part of it.

My friend Steve Dorst, founder of VIBE Tours, is joining us in this next chapter. While VIBE organizes cycling trips across Europe, Steve also lives and rides here in the DC area. When I approached him about supporting what we were building locally, he immediately understood the spirit of the community and wanted to help it grow.

VIBE DC is about more than riding fast. It is about creating a welcoming and structured Washington DC cycling group ride where riders feel comfortable showing up every Sunday, meeting new people, and sharing the experience of riding together.

Steve put it best, “My goal is simple: have fun. Support the great vibe that already exists and help it grow.”

VIBE DC officially launches March 22.

Every Sunday we meet at Grace Street Coffee in Georgetown, gathering around 8:00 am and rolling out at 8:30 am for one of the most welcoming Sunday group rides in DC. Riders break into A, B, and C pace groups, each led by experienced ride leaders focused on safety, structure, and making sure everyone has a great experience on the road.

If you enjoy riding your bike, there is a place for you here.

You will not be dropped, and you will always be welcomed. And if you have questions about cycling’s many mysteries, from chamois cream to power pedals to aero socks, you will quickly find plenty of riders happy to debate the details with you.

After the ride, stick around for coffee, food, and conversation. Those post ride moments are often what turn a ride into a real community.

Follow VIBE DC on Strava and Instagram to stay up to date on rides, weather updates, and community events.

See you next Sunday!

Jerzy Romanowski

Jerzy is VIBE D.C. primary ride leader.
