Our Base Camp

Molino del Carmen, Gaucín

The village of Gaucín is our base camp for epic rides in every direction. This mountain crossroads sits on a ridge between two of Spain’s major rivers and nature reserves.

At the heart of the town is Molino del Carmen, a traditional olive oil mill converted into eight chic apartments. Views from the villa stretch to Gibraltar, the Mediterranean, and north Africa. Recover by the pool as the sun sets over the mountains, and enjoy private chef meals around a communal table as we soak up the vibe.

Stroll the winding streets and get the feel of life in an ancient town that has survived the rise and fall of empires. This is your chance to conquer mountains and live for a week in one of Andalucía’s iconic whitewashed villages.

Where You’ll Ride

From the Mediterranean coast to the dramatic town of Ronda, come challenge your legs on Spain’s mountain roads. Our six unique routes wind among river valleys, national parks, limestone peaks, and lush forests. We will stop for coffee and lunch in charming towns, and shoot down to the beach for seaside snacks.

The WILD MOUNTAINS of Andalucía

About Our Routes

  • The sun sets super late in June, so we’ll have time to test our bikes and legs on a shakeout ride to one of the local mountain villages. Route TBD.

    20 miles // 2,000 ft.

  • Our first ride is an out-and-back dash to the Mediterranean. We stop in San Luis de Sabinillas for coffee at a chiringuito (beachfront grill) before climbing our way home. We refuel in Casares for the main climb of the day.

    41 miles // 5,449 ft.

  • Ride 2 includes a punchy climb to lunch in Castellar Viejo de la Frontera. This walled castle town is one of the prettiest villages in Spain. We start with a big descent before crossing the Guadiaro River valley. On the way home, we grab coffee in San Pablo de Buceite before grinding back to Gaucín.

    64 miles // 5,121 ft.

  • Ride 3 takes the scenic route to the neighboring town of El Colmenar. We ride along the ridge above the Genal River valley before turning toward the Sierra de Grazalema mountains. After coffee in Cortes de la Frontera, we ride 11 miles through the quiet forests of the Parque Los Alcornocales.

    43 miles // 5,175 ft.

  • Coming off our rest day we tackle the Queen Stage, a challenging out and back to Benaocaz. We pause by the bullring at the Ubrique overlook before climbing to lunch above the valley. A coffee stop in Cortes de la Frontera powers us up the final climb.

    68 miles // 8,088 ft.

  • Our final ride aims for Ronda, the dramatic clifftop town at the heart of Andalucía. This day is peppered with Cat. 4 and Cat. 3 climbs. Our legs are loving us now and will keep loving us for months to come. The return journey follows the Guadiaro River along a nature preserve before kicking across the valley and up the other side.

    54 miles // 6,366 ft.

Our Fuel

A private camp chef will prepare balanced meals that combine performance nutrition with the authentic flavors of southern Spain. Each day’s menu will fuel your legs and support recovery with local and seasonal ingredients. We will nourish the body for hard riding, celebrate the region’s vibrant culinary traditions, and trade stories around a communal table.
